The Guggenheim Dining Table
Around our own Thanksgiving table in 2019, the Frailey family began dreaming of creating heirloom furniture that would bring loved ones together for generations. The Guggenheim dining table embodies this vision—a magnificent solid wood gathering place where people can share not just meals, but the moments that truly matter.
The construction journey starts with a trip to our local lumber mill where my mom, Paige, brings her fine art background to the process; carefully turning over and inspecting each potential board, identifying subtle characteristics invisible to most eyes, before only taking home the top ~5%, to ensure commonality in both hue and a smooth grain transition between the boards.
Back at our woodshop, my dad, James, myself and our small team of professional woodworkers, work diligently to bring the Guggenheim to life. We invest meticulous time on joinery, glue-ups, and stress testing to ensure this table will stand as a family centerpiece for generations.
The clean lines and gentle tapers of the legs reflect our mid-century modern inspiration, where form accentuates the natural beauty of the wood. We've applied these design principles while ensuring the table feels inviting rather than austere—a balance that has become our signature at Frailey Woodworks.
